Films: Lights Out (2016)
Alias: None
Type: Mystical
Location: Haunted Home
Height/Weight: That of an average human.
Affiliation: Evil
Summary: Everyone knows that the worst monsters like to inhabit the dark. But there's a reason for that. They can see in it, you can't. And then there are the beings that just cannot tolerate the light. At all.
History: Diana Walter was once a young girl with psychic powers and one Hell of a mean streak. Aside from killing her father, she tormented Sophie, her friend at the mental ward, before an experiment caused her and Sophie to be psychically linked. But Diana was reduced to a spirit afterwards. Naturally, she used this to her advantage, and held a vice grip over Sophie for the rest of her days. And she isn't particularly fond of her children, either...or anybody else...
Notable Kills: Nothing special.
Final Fate: In the end, just as Diana has one of Sophie's children cornered, the woman shows up to shoot herself, severing Diana's tie to the mortal realm and banishing her forever.
Powers/Abilities: Possession, immortality, mind-control
Weakness: Even in life, her skin was quite vulnerable to the light. In death, it burns away at her skin. Also, if the one she's linked to dies, so will she.
Scariness Factor: 3.5-It helps if you got lots of light sources. That way, you can make this thing's life Hell. But if you don't, this disfigured corpse of a being has you dead to rights. It doesn't help that she was a raging sociopath even while alive.
Trivia: -Director David Sandburg has expressed interest in a sequel mainly because the focus group ending he had to go with gave off an unfortunate message that people with depression should kill themselves for everyone else's sake. That’s uh...not good.
-Originally, Sandberg made this film as a short for a competition, but while it didn't win, the viral popularity had Hollywood making eyes at him.
